Angel House Designs was established by the original founders of The Seraph, and authentic period furniture designs in both businesses were lovingly recreated by former architect and art historian Val Dzelzitis. All designs are based on original antiques purchased at auctions and estate sales in the early 1970s to furnish our restored 1710/1731 saltbox home, the Captain William Olds House in Brookfield, MA.

In the original incarnation of the business, guardian angels were symbolic of the ancestors and history that paved the way for our modern world, and historic preservation was regarded as a way to connect us to our past. The original tagline, "Our chairs have wings" was another clever homage to how material culture and everyday objects hold meaning and connection to our past and tell stories about the people who created them.

After 40 years of running Angel House, Val passed away during the pandemic and his daughter is grateful to have been able to return to the Captain William Olds House to reorganize the business, continue to make the same quality furniture, and again offer interior design services for early homes.
